National Technical Museum, Prague 2018, 300 pages, 165x245 mm, ISBN 978-80-7037-284-5 The publication is devoted to the collection of the photographic technique of the National Technical Museum and to the development of photography techniques. Also, a detailed description is given of all objects showcased in new exhibitions of the National Technical Museum. The InterCamera exhibition consists of two parts. The first part – The Development of Photographic Techniques and Photographic Studio – is located in a room that is entered from the museum entrance hall. From here visitors can continue into the next room where they find the other parts of the exhibition, namely The History of Spatial Photography, of Colour Photographic Techniques, and of Photography of Movement. At the entrance is a large mural reproduction of a group daguerreotype of a noble family. The main floor shows the development of photographic techniques and interactive cameras. The Development of Photographic Techniques starts with the prehistory of photography – presenting the efforts for recording and preserving pictures before the birth of photography. There are exhibited miniature paintings, silhouettes and ceroplastics (coloured plastic portraits modelled in wax) that were made before 1839. Among them are a heliography by Professor Jaroslav Bouček, reproduction of a copperplate of the Pope Pius VII and a replica of the first photochemical recording made by Niépce in 1822.
